When drivers take the wheel in Atlanta, they need to realize that a lot of responsibility sits on their shoulders. An automobile is, after all, a potentially dangerous piece of equipment. When operated carelessly, serious consequences, including death and disability, can occur. Just one bad or impaired driver has the potential to adversely affect so many lives. This is why it is so important for drivers to be vigilant while operating a motor vehicle and ensure that they have all their faculties about them while driving.
A fatal accident that occurred recently in Gwinnett County may have been the result of an impaired or distracted driver. The man was driving on Singleton Road traveling the wrong way in the northbound lanes. He collided with cars that were stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of Jimmy Carter Blvd. Six vehicles were involved in the collision. The accident was so bad that every northbound lane and one southbound lane on Singleton road were shut down around the scene.
One woman was killed in the accident; another person was hospitalized with minor injuries. The driver that caused the collision was also transported to the hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
The family of the woman who died in this accident may wish to consult with a personal injury attorney regarding their right to compensation for their loved one’s death. They may be able to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver who caused the accident in order to be compensated for their loved one’s pain and suffering and funeral expenses.
