1 Dead, 2 Injured After Car Crash In Marietta

When approaching another vehicle that is traveling more slowly than you in Fulton County, it is important that you give yourself enough time to slow down instead of coming up on the vehicle quickly. Sometimes it is hard to judge just how much distance you need to slow down, so doing it as quickly as possible is essential. Drivers who are not paying attention to the road can inadvertently crash into the back of another slower moving vehicle, especially if they are moving much faster.

This seems to be the case for a fatal accident that occurred in Marietta, Georgia recently. A 2008 Volkswagen Jetta was traveling east up a steep grade on Paper Mill Road and came up behind a 1929 Model A Ford that was traveling slowly. The Jetta hit the back of the Ford, sending the Ford into the westbound lanes. The Ford tipped over and crashed into a 2004 Toyota Sienna.

Although the people in the Toyota and Jetta were unharmed, the Ford’s 67-year-old driver suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. A 67-year-old woman in the Ford was hospitalized with serious injuries and another passenger, a 3-year-old child, was taken to the hospital after suffering non-life-threatening injuries.

Those injured in the accident and the family of the man who was killed may wish to consult with a personal injury attorney to discuss the collision. A lawyer can review their case and help them determine their right to compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering and funeral costs, where applicable.
