When you think of a defective product in Fulton County, you may think of a toy that has been recalled because of a danger that it poses to a child or an article of clothing that falls apart the first time it’s washed. You probably wouldn’t think about the possibility of a product used in a medical procedure being defective. Yet even with the possible fatal consequences of mistakes made in the manufacture of medical products, they do unfortunately happen.
The safety of certain brands of pelvic mesh products has been called into question in recent months. Thousands of people have filed lawsuits against pelvic mesh manufacturers claiming that they have suffered injuries as a result of the product being surgically placed inside their bodies.
Recently a woman filed a products liability lawsuit against several medical companies that played a role in the manufacture of a surgical mesh product that she says has caused her serious pain and suffering. She also claims that the product has caused her impairment, loss of enjoyment of life and disability. Her lawsuit states that the mesh or the components of the mesh can cause problems including blood loss, urinary incontinence, organ perforation and infection in those who have had the mesh surgically implanted.
This woman put her trust in the manufacturers of this medical product and was let down. Hopefully her lawsuit will enable her to receive proper compensation for the pain and suffering to which she has been subjected as well as for the cost of the medical bills that she has incurred.
