Operating a vehicle in Atlanta is nothing to take lightly. It is a big responsibility that needs to be treated as such. It can be easy to get complacent about your driving abilities and fail to take it seriously, but doing so can lead to serious, even fatal consequences.
A car accident that occurred recently in Chatsworth, Georgia illustrates just how quickly things can turn fatal on the road. A 17-year-old was riding in a 2003 Ford Mustang at around 9:30 a.m. on a Sunday morning when the driver lost control of the vehicle. It is not known why he lost control, but he was traveling around a curve on southbound Pinhook Creek Road near Highway 225 North when it happened.
After the driver lost control, the Mustang ended up in the wrong lane on the highway. Another vehicle slammed into the passenger side of the car. Both drivers were taken to the hospital for treatment, but the extent of their injuries is unknown at this point. The teenage passenger in the Mustang died that afternoon as a result of his injuries.
Although the collision is still being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team, the family of the teenager who died in this accident may wish to consult with an attorney about their loved one’s death. They may be entitled to compensation for the pain and suffering he went through as well as for his medical expenses and funeral costs. A lawyer may be able to help ensure that they receive the proper amount they are owed.
